Introduction: Psoriasis is a systemic inflammatory skin disease, which is associated with increased cardiovascular disease (CVD) potentially through metabolic derangements due to chronic inflammation. Serum adiponectin appears to decrease the risk of CVD and has been shown to negatively associate with waist size and insulin resistance (IR), both of which are increased in psoriasis.
